I heard a whisper coming from the basement of my old childhood home. I was standing at the top of the basement stairs when I first heard it whisper "leave" In anger I responded "What?!?" I stood for a little longer at the top of the stairs a little freaked out but determined to find out what it was. I walked down the basement stairs and listened very closely and then said quietly "Hello?" in a calmer voice. A whispering female voice said "Hello" back in a very weak voice. Freaked out I threw something in the direction of the voice and began to yell obesities in response. Something told me though that I didn't need to be so angry though. when I threw the object in the direction of the voice I saw a purple light from the other end of the basement that looked almost like a movie project light cast itself across the basement floor and over toward me. In fear I ran back up the stairs to regroup my thoughts and then mustered up the courage to go back down and talk with her. Something in the dream told me who it was. It was an older women who had passed away in that basement and was upset that I had just thrown something at her. As I walked back down to apologize. This time instead of a movie projection light I saw a purple orb light swirling in the same spot and I approached it and tried to genuinely apologize. I Kneeled down near the light to ask for forgiveness for my reaction and asked if she was still there. I felt the light disappear and as it did I asked if she was still there and I heard a voice come from so close behind me I could feel the physical presence of the person it belonged to. I was scared but felt a great peace at the same time. I woke up before I could turn to see who was standing there with me in the basement.
This dream could symbolize unresolved emotions or feelings from your past that are manifesting as a ghostly presence in the basement of your childhood home. The whispering voice urging you to "leave" may represent a desire to confront or let go of these lingering issues. Your initial response of anger could suggest defensiveness or fear in facing these buried emotions.
As you delve deeper into the basement and encounter the female voice, it could symbolize your subconscious trying to communicate with you and bring closure to these unresolved feelings. The purple light and orb may represent spiritual energies or guidance from the other side, hinting at a need for forgiveness and understanding.
Ultimately, the dream may be urging you to acknowledge and make peace with aspects of your past that are haunting you, possibly through self-reflection, forgiveness, and acceptance. The presence of the older woman could represent wisdom or guidance from beyond, offering a chance for healing and resolution. The unsettled feeling you experience throughout the dream and the ambiguity of the figure behind you at the end could signify uncertainty and fear of the unknown, but also a potential for growth and transformation if you are willing to face your past with courage and compassion.
